In the CIS matchup that started off DreamHack Open Summer AVANGAR defeated Winstrike 16-14 on Vertigo, while Ancient took down CR4ZY 16-12 on Inferno. Flanking quickly through mid was crucial to Winstrike winning the CT pistol on Vertigo, but a strong force buy from AVANGAR saw them bounce back right away. David "n0rb3r7" Danielyan's double kill on the solo B defense allowed his team to earn their second, but AVANGAR was back in control shortly, dictating the pace of the game from the Terrorist side. ![]() Dzhami "Jame" Ali and co. finished the first half 10-5 up, but were overrun on the B site in the pistol and Winstrike started building momentum on the offensive side. As the score was 10-9, Aleksei "El1an" Gusev punished CT aggression to get the early man advantage, which his team capitalized on to take the lead. AVANGAR started finding more success with passive setups, which saw the game go down to the wire, 14-14. In the final stages of the game, Jame came up big with AWP picks, getting AVANGAR over the finish line, 16-14. DreamHack Open Summer 2019Best of 1![]() ![]()
CR4ZY grabbed a strong, 4-0 start on the CT side of Inferno, but after the home crowd favorites Ancient mustered their first round, the Serbian team started to struggle. Nicolas "Plopski" Gonzalez Zamora and Joakim "disco doplan" Gidetun were leading the fragging for their side, with William "draken" Sundin's 1v2 clutch also proving important to the Swedes going 6-4 up. The streak of rounds won by Ancient was finally stopped at eight, with Nemanja "nexa" Isaković and Otto "ottoNd" Sihvo stepping up to help their side to a 7-8 half-time score. Resolving a 5v5 afterplant on B saw CR4ZY bounce back into the lead following a 4-0 start in the second half, but then Ancient locked them out with three perfect rounds to tie the score again, 11-11. After early trades on Banana, CR4ZY finally managed to get the bomb down, but still fell to a quick retake. Ancient continued chaining rounds up till match point, 15-11, eventually closing out the game 16-12. DreamHack Open Summer 2019Best of 1![]() ![]() ![]()
