G2 defeated OpTic twice and secured the #1 seed in Group B in Atlanta(16-14 on Train and 16-4 on Nuke). The first match of the second day in ELEAGUE Season 1 was between G2 and OpTic. First map was Train and the second one was the renewed Nuke. An A-site rush by the T-sided G2 in the pistol round was a success and they also went on to secure the first weapon round. Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom & company were in a 3vs5 situation in the sixth round but were able to win it to make it 6-0. OpTic won their first round in the subsequent round as Damian "daps" Steele prevented ScreaM from getting the ace. After winning another round, OpTic gave one away, losing to a force buy. G2 finished the half 11-4 in front.
OpTic had a much better start to the second half as they grabbed eight of the first nine rounds to tie it at 12-12. The North American team took the lead but it was short-lived as G2 answered back (14-13). Richard "shox" Papillon's quad-kill in the 30th round gave the map to G2 as they won it 16-14. William "RUSH" Wierzba, whose team was on the T-side, opened Nuke with a quad-kill in the pistol round and although OpTic secured the pistol round, they lost the anti-eco. As G2 extended their lead to 8-1, OpTic called for a timeout. The North American team only had pistols and armor but made it work as they picked up their second round but they lost the half 2-13. G2 finished it off with a 16-4 final score. Next up in Atlanta Ninjas in Pyjamas will take on Selfless and the streams for the said match can be found here.
